Jewish People
One of the major instances that Human Rights Action Group is focusing on is the massacre committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and the continued atrocities being committed against those held hostage in the Gaza Strip.
Human Rights Action Group is working on this and related endeavours with groups that represent victims of terrorism, including Secure Canada (formerly the Canadian Coalition Against Terror), an organization that was founded by Canadian families of 9/11 victims. Secure Canada has since worked to support countless victims of terrorism including Canadians who are victimized abroad in acts of terror and other mass atrocities.
The attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, was the single most brutal massacre against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Approximately 1,200 people were killed and over 200 taken hostage in an attack orchestrated and carried out by Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization that receives funding and training from the Islamic Republic of Iran. Numerous independent and credible entities have found that Hamas’ attacks included sexual violence. Pramila Patten, the United Nations Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, found “clear and convincing information that sexual violence, including rape, sexualised torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment” was committed against hostages. Several Canadians are among the victims.
Human Rights Action Group also forms part of the Alliance of Canadians Combatting Antisemitism (ALCCA).
Human Rights Action Group works to combat rising antisemitism in Canada and abroad, working with various Jewish communities under threat.
