Sarah Teich Interviewed by NJW: Transnational Repression and Its Impact on Diaspora Communities in Canada

Sarah Teich was interviewed by Davut Akça, a member of Northern Justice Watch (NJW) and an assistant professor at Lakehead University, and NJW Communications Team member Ruveyda Dos on the concept and impact of transnational repression in Canada. The interview mentioned Combatting Transnational Repression and Foreign Interference in Canada, a jointly released report by the Human Rights Action Group and Council for a Secure Canada. The report addresses the harassment of diaspora community members and their supporters by authoritarian regimes and calls for stronger protections from Ottawa.

Teich described transnational repression as a serious threat to Canadian sovereignty, citing the impact on diaspora communities as a significant concern. Teich also highlighted the silencing effect of this repression.
