On October 31, 2025, HRAG co-founder and president Sarah Teich presented at an IPF Atid Toronto event titled “Accountability in Action—The Legal Response to October 7.” The event brought together young professionals in Toronto to discuss legal efforts addressing the October 7, 2023 atrocities.

Teich discussed questions of genocide, international law, and mass atrocities in the context of October 7 and subsequent developments. The presentation explored the role of transparency and procedural rigor in accountability mechanisms, and examined challenges in establishing facts in highly contested geopolitical contexts.

The discussion addressed ongoing debates about international legal processes and institutions, and how different actors approach questions of compliance with international humanitarian law.
